Several new items have been added to the Light Emitting Diodes section in the past week, including some devices that are truly minuscule: unpackaged General Instrument diode dies. Two other additions to the LED's section are the Monsanto MAN-3, the world's first surface-mount seven-segment LED; and the MAN-601A, a first-generation overflow display.

We've also added an unusual 7587 'Nuvistor' tetrode to the Diodes, Triodes... section. The 7587 is a tiny cermet tube with an anode cap, and one of the only non-triode Nuvistors.

Another batch of new tubes has been added to the site. The Sylvania 7155 is a glow transfer counting tube that has a lot of features packed into a tiny envelope. Also added are three panaplex displays to the Gas Discharge Displays section: the SP-356, the SP-152, and the tiny SP-333.

2007-03-17 Stupid ADB Tricks
Posted by AnubisTTP

Ever wish Apple made a two button ADB mouse? Sure, Apple finally broke down and made a multibutton mouse for their new machines, but what if you want to engage in some two button action on a "classic" machine? You could just scrounge a third party mouse from the usual sources, but why take the easy way out when you could build your own?

The VTA has added three new counting tubes to its collection: the metal base OG-3, a hard-to-find OG-7, and the extremely slow OG-4. All three tubes can be found in the Glow-Transfer Counting Tubes section.

A new klystron, the 2K46, has also been added to the Microwave Oscillator Tubes section.

2007-01-27 A Machine for Marking
Posted by AnubisTTP

Take a look at the newly added Monarch Model J Marking Machine, a piece of heavy ironmongery that makes modern Paxar ticketing guns look like a divine intervention on behalf of the stockboys of the world. I for one would not want to carry this piece of equipment along a wall of consumer goods for any length of time.
