Yet another anonymous early LED part number, this strange device appears to represent the minimal amount of epoxy that can be used to encase an LED and still retain functionality. Little more than a bare die mounted to a gold transistor header, a thin dome of epoxy has been painted across the top of the device, providing a degree of protection for the ball-bond wire. Light output from this device is quite dim, barely more than that generated by a Monsanto MV1. We have been unable to determine the part number for this device, but suspect it was most likely manufactured by Phillips.
